Yellow lines
Keep Clear — Entrance / Dropped Kerb
In plain English
This section of road must be kept clear — it gives access to a driveway, premises or pedestrian crossing.
What it means
Yellow zig-zag or 'KEEP CLEAR' markings outside an entrance indicate the road must be kept free of stationary vehicles. This applies at entrances to off-street premises, dropped kerbs for pedestrian crossings, and fire station/hospital entrances. Blocking these areas — even briefly — can result in a PCN and obstruction offence.
