Pay & Display / Pay-by-phone
First Hour Free — Pay and Display
In plain English
The first hour of parking is free — after that you must pay at the machine.
What it means
This is a pay and display bay where the first period of parking (usually 1 hour) is free of charge. After the free period you must pay at the machine for any additional time. You still need to get a ticket from the machine even for the free period — the ticket shows your arrival time and proves you haven't exceeded the free allowance.
